About
The establishment of the Leadership & Innovation Research Laboratory reflects a growing international focus on leadership as a decisive factor in organizational success. The COVID-19 crisis further underscored the critical role of capable leaders in navigating unprecedented challenges.
The Laboratory is founded on values that strengthen both professional competence and competitive advantage: collaboration, trust, motivation, risk awareness, crisis and conflict management, and openness to innovative ideas. Its research activities aim to reinforce key elements of sustainable and effective organizational functioning — whether in public institutions, private enterprises, or industry — including knowledge management, evidence-based decision making, and sound organizational design.
By promoting research and practical applications, the Laboratory seeks to address a persistent gap between knowing what to do and understanding how to do it. It supports the development of adaptation strategies that enhance resilience, reduce resistance to change, and enable organisations to implement transformative initiatives.
As a faculty-level research entity, the Laboratory requires and promotes collaboration across academic departments. It also fosters partnerships with laboratories and academic institutions in Greece and internationally, as well as non-profit organizations engaged in relevant research fields.
The Laboratory’s focus on core values that underpin competitive advantage — collaboration, trust, and efficiency — places it beyond the scope of a conventional research entity. Its philosophy aligns with the goals of sustainable development and innovation, which are central priorities of the European Union.
